Bring Non-Perishable Food to IP8 for 30 Hour Day

Ignite Portland is teaming up with the awesome, generous folks at 30 Hour Day again, to do some good in the community along with our burning ideas and fun. Here’s Rick Turoczy to tell you all about it:

Ignite Portland has always been about community. That’s why giving back to the community is so important to us. Last Ignite, the folks at Small Society held a toy and food drive for 30 Hour Day, a Web-based livestreaming telethon designed to raise money and materials for local charities and to increase visibility for charities worldwide. The result of that effort? You managed to help gather a barrel full of food and a bunch of toys for needy families–just by attending Ignite.

The effort was so successful, we wanted to do it again. And as luck would have it, there’s also another 30 Hour Day that needs help. So we’re joining forces again. To help the community.

Simply bring some nonperishable food to Ignite. Drop it off at the 30 Hour Day table and they’ll make sure it gets to the right people. You’ll get some great enetertainment. And some local families will get some much needed food. What could be better than that?

Put something on your calendar or set a reminder, so you don’t forget as you head out the door to the Bagdad on March 3. And thanks in advance for your generosity! :-)
